Stainless-steel insulated bottles and containers
For all those who want to enjoy sustainable on the go - They are all fairly produced and without BPA.
How the insulated bottles work
The functional principle of insulated bottles is as simple as it is ingenious. The bottle actually consists of two vessels, which are nested inside each other. Between the containers is a vacuum, which provides good insulation of the bottle. Vacuum is a poor conductor of heat, which is why water, tea and coffee stay hot for a long time and cold drinks like iced tea or fruit juice stay cold. The same principle is also used in thermos bottles, thermos flasks and insulated containers.
What is a thermos bottle?
In 1903, the German inventor Reinhold Burger registered the patent for vacuum insulation, which is still used today. He also had the term "Thermos bottle" legally protected. By the way: "Thermos" comes from the ancient Greek and means warm. Thermos bottles and thermos flasks have been sold in series since 1920.
Stainless-steel vacuum flasks: durable, sustainable & BPA-free
The inner vessel of an insulated bottle is usually made of glass or stainless-steel. Stainless-steel's biggest advantage is that it is unbreakable and thus much more durable. Especially on the road and in the outdoors, when out hiking or playing sports, an insulated drinking bottle made of stainless-steel is an excellent choice. In addition, stainless-steel is odorless, tasteless and free of harmful substances.
BPA (bisphenol A) and other plasticizers in particular pose a significant risk to health. You should generally avoid plastic insulated bottles if you want to contribute to environmental protection. In contrast, stainless-steel is very durable and fully recyclable. In addition, the bottles look much nicer than plastic versions and can be used for many years without any decrease in quality.
Other advantages of stainless-steel:
- Low weight: Stainless-steel is significantly lighter than glass, which is why insulated bottles made of the light metal are ideal for sports, leisure and the workplace.
- Easy to clean: Stainless-steel insulated bottles are very easy to clean. You can either use a regular bottle brush, or just let your dishwasher do the work. Stainless-steel is rustproof and therefore fully dishwasher safe.
- BPA-free, no plasticizers, no microplastics - great for the environment and perfect for your health
Which insulated bottle is the best for my needs?
Our stainless-steel insulated bottles are available in two different sizes. The small bottle with a filling volume of 0.5 liters is perfect for work or short trips. The larger version with a capacity of 1 liter is ideal if you are traveling as a couple. For both models, we use only high-quality 18/8 stainless-steel, which is free of harmful substances and has been produced sustainably. Bottled drinks stay hot or cold for up to 8 hours.
For keeping food warm, we recommend our insulated stainless-steel containers. These are also available in two different sizes; with 300 ml volume for snacks and smaller meals in between and in the larger version for 500 ml content.
All stainless-steel insulated containers from ECO Brotbox are reliably leak-proof thanks to a food-safe silicone ring in the screw cap. Even on a hiking trip or during sports, you don't have to worry about your morning soup or freshly brewed tea ending up in your backpack.
Safe handling: How to keep your drinks hot / cold longer
To keep your food or drinks at the right temperature for longer amounts of time, you should preheat or pre-cool the bottles before filling them. Simply pour in a little hot or cold tap water. Then screw on the lid and shake the bottle a few times. Now you can pour away the water and fill in the actual contents. This little trick allows you to benefit from the good insulating properties of stainless-steel for even longer.
Easy and quick cleaning
Stainless-steel is very uncomplicated and quick to clean again. Our insulated bottles and insulated containers are also all dishwasher safe and can be placed in the dishwasher without any problems. For particularly stubborn stains or deposits, for example from coffee or tea, we recommend putting the sealing ring in the bottle, pouring in a little vinegar and hot water, letting it soak in and then cleaning it with the bottle brush and rinsing it well. This type of cleaning can also be used very well on a normal thermos jug.
